I and going to put a 396 big block in my 68 Camaro convertible that currently has a 6 cylinder. Can anyone tell me what I will need to do to the suspension to hold the additional weight.
I think I will need to change the springs but what else will I need to do.
Please write to this thread.

WOW, thats a tall order....
Big block springs like you mentioned

1. Radiator (4 core)
2. motor mounts BB
3. engine wire harness v8
4 Transmission bellhousing v8
5 Transmission crossmember BB
6. driveshaft / universal joints possible?
7. Throttle linkage
8. prob. a bunch of parts i am missing but i know that will be a mouth full for your change just to start...

not to mention searching this site for info:thumbsup:

Recommend good set of performance spring rate coils, shocks and a sway bar....Minimum...We sell several performance brands...Just depends on budget as ALWAYS!! Let me know if you need any help planning, we do it all day!

Frame mounts (brackets)
Engine mounts (motor)
Transmission Crossmember
Z-bar if 4 speed (bell crank)
