I am looking to mount my rear on the leaf springs with a Mono to multi leaf conversion kit. It uses metal spacers instead of rubber cushions. has anyone done this. I'm concerned that it will cause vibration or somehow lessons the ride.
I am running an original mono leaf that was an over the counter piece that "all of the racers used them" or so my old timer track buddy said, either way, I used the 1 inch blocks to take up the space in the multi leaf bracket, I have rubber on each side and it gives me that slammed look like a sleeper. You need to put them in the weeds on a 4 speed car to get them to hook!
If you don't plan on using the spring isolators (pads) you won't need nor should you use the side spacers in the "kit" you bought. If you mount the rear w/o the pads there must be a gap between the shock plate and the spring perch so that you have visible proof that the spring is firmly clamped.
