There is a procedure that involves placing marks on a wall in front of the vehicle. And aiming the headlights at them. It's quite involved. The quickest way I know of is with the lights on dim, the left light should point just left of center of the road in front of you about 3 car lengths ahead. The right light should point at the right shoulder of the road about 4-5 car lengths ahead.
