Hey Gang

Hi I'm Nick and live in London, England. I've just recently bought myself a '67 Camaro 327 RS and thought I'd pop in and say hello. Prior to the Camaro I had a Kustom '60 Ford Wagon and '67 Dodge Charger, I must say the Camaro is a league apart in drivability. I'm loving driving it!

Anyhoo thought you might like to see a few photos of the RS with a model called Emily...

Welcome to the Club! Mighty fine pictures of the car and Emily.
Love the resemblance between the two, the lines and the color.

Welcome from the former colony.

You've a great auto there. You must turn a few heads when you go down the motorway, eh? Keep the windscreen clean!

Cheers.

Where is the car? ;)
Hey first thing you need to do with your car is remove that 'caution' sticker from the fan shroud. Camaros NEVER had a sticker there. Its actually a Ford sticker but some resto catalog decided to put it in the Camaro page of their catalog and now those pesky stickers show up due to people not doing their homework on them.
Yank it off mate. And welcome to Team Camaro. :beers:

Thanks for the warm welcome :D

Didn't know about the sticker LOL. I think they got sticker happy after the resto, there is one on the underside of the trunk lid about an LSD but it doesn't have one. That's something I want to change (the diff not the sticker!) :)

I'm curious as to the market for these kinds of cars, Nick? How did you hear about it? Did you pick it up over there? Is there much of a demand for the Camaro in Jolly old?

There was another chap, from your isle who was into the cars BIG time who joined this site, and was about to put scads of money into it. Haven't heard from him in a while?

Just make sure that you check under the bonnet from time to time, eh?:)

Thanks guys :)

I'm curious as to the market for these kids of cars, Nick?
I guess the market if pretty limited over here what with petrol being $10 a gallon. But there are still some great shows over here and 3 active drag strips. I do a fiar bit of photography at these events, I used to to it for magazines but not so much any more. Have a look at my website: www.grantgb.com under cars. We also have some regular local meet ups and a pretty close nit group who will always help each other out. Because of the size of the market shows will normally be mixed with Hot Rods, Yanks (the nick name for classic American Cars here) and even old VWs. An example here... http://www.grantgb.com/brooklands2006.htm I used to drive aircooled VWs and then decided to make the jump to American Cars as it is something I've always wanted to do.

All my American cars I have bought from ebay in the UK. I've never bidded but rung them up , gone to see the car and done a deal. This was my Charger, which I ran as my daily for 3 years....

...then I wanted a change so sold the Charger to a guy in Germany and bought a full on Kustom Wagon....

...which turned out to be way too big and low to use everyday over here. No power steering and manual drums too :( So that was sold through a specialist website and the Camaro was bought. I can't believe how good it is to drive!

Thanks for the heads up on the muscle car market across the pond.

Nice to see that you've made it to the pinnacle of autos.:) Keep in touch, eh?

As by your shots... can see some of the advantages of being a photographer.

This site is great, I've been trawling through some old threads and there is a mine of knowledge to tap into. One of the lights is not shutting off the motor when it opens and I was about to shim the switch but now I've read that it has a clutch to adjust instead, that will save me a world of trouble :)

I'm off to Santa Pod (the main Dragstrip over here) at the weekend to see what the Camaro can do. It's a VW event and I need to pick my oppontent carefully there are some street legal cars in the 9s. I'm expecting to be about 6 seconds slower that that! :)
