I picked up a plain 68 camaro that I plan on "restifying". It originally had a 327/powerglide that were swapped out. I have no idea where the engine in it is from. The block casting # is 3956618. The engine stamp is V0211WK, and the casting # on the heads is 333882. The WK engine code means that it is not from a Camaro right? Can anyone help me figure out what year / model engine this is, and whether it is worth rebuilding? I have my eye on one of the ZZ4 engines if it is not. The engine runs well now. It has 1.6 rocker arms on it that will need to be swapped out to allow for reinstallation of the heater box that was ripped out. Should I rebuild or replace?

The 618 block was used on the 68 and 69 302,327,and 350. No info on the WK but it's not a 302. Check the date code on the back of the block. It's a raised set of letters and numbers; the last digit is the year it was cast. Is it a two or four bolt? I don't think a four bolt 327 was ever made so if it's a four it must be a 350. The 882 heads were used on 74-80 350's and 400's and they should be 76cc so they didn't originally come with that particular block. Hope this helps.
