I HAVE A 83 Z28 WITH A 305 I FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR 150 MILES AWAY FROM WHERE I LIVE WHEN I GOT IN THE CAR I TOOK IT TO THE GAS STATION AND FILLED IT UP WIT GAS....THE ONLY GUAGES THAT WORKED WERE THE FUEL AND THE TACH....I GOT BOUT HALFWAY TO MY DESTINATION AND STOPPED AT A CONVENICE STOR HA! MY TACH DIDNT DROP FROM 3500 IT JUST SIT THERE AND MY FUEL GUAGE NEVER DROPPED OFF A FULL TANK...SO WHEN I GOT HOME I PULLED THE FUSE AND IT WAS BLOWN SO I PUT ANOTHER 30 WATT FUSE IN IT...THE GUAGES WORKED FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS THEN AT WORK OE NIGHT I WAS LEAVING I NOTICED THE Y DIDNT WORK....I CHCKED THE FUSE AND IT WAS GOOD SO I POPPED IT BACK IN AN WENT INSIDE AND WENT TO SLEEP THE NEXT MORNIN I WOKE UP AND WENT OT SCHOOL AND I NOTICED ON THE WAY TO SCHOOL THEY WERE WORKING AGAIN....WHEN I WAS LEAVING SCHOOL I STARTED MY CAR AND NOTICED THE TACH WASNT WORKING NEITHER WAS THE FUEL GUAGE S I PULLED THE FUSE AGAIN AND IT WAS BURNT SO I PUT ANOTHER 30 IN BU THIS TIME IT DIDNT MAKE TEM WORK....I WENT AND BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 30 AND OUT IT IN AND IT STILL DONT WORK.....IVE NEVER HAD THE LIGTHS BEHIND THEM WORK OR THE SERVICE ENIN OR ANY OF THOSE LIGHTS THE ONJLY ONES THAT WORKED WERE THE TACH AND THE FUEL....I FIGURED WHY THE SPEEDOMETHER WASNT WORKING CUZ IT WASN T PLUGGED INTO THE TRANNY BUT I CANT TELL IF IT IS FIXED CUZ THE FUSEBOX OR SUMTHIN IS SCREWED UP..........PLEASE HELP......I HATE RUNNING OUT OF GAS! LOL

2 ideas here. #1 jumper the fuse fanel then just wait and look for smoke. (just kiddin).
#2 and my real suggestion. Purchase a circuit breaker at your parts store with the same rating as your fuse. This will atleast buy you some time untill you can diagnose the problem.

I'd just about nail it down to being a ground in the dash harness. You need to get a wiring schematic for that car and start ohming wires out.

A circuit breaker is like a fuse that when overloads blows. It can be reset by pushing a button as opposed to replacing the fuse. It would do nothing to helping you resolve the problem. If you don't have some very basic understanding of how electricity works you are better off finding someone that is to help you or taking the car to a shop. I'm not saying you cannot learn but learning lessons can be more costly to you than getting things fixed.
