I posted in the tranny forum that I finished my 9" conversion. I want to put 17" wheels on my car. I measured the BS on my 15" Rally wheels and it measured 3.75". The outer rim lip is 3/4 of an inch from hitting the lower shock mount. My question is, will the shock tuck inside a 17" wheel and can anyone give me some other measurements I need to make? Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

Dont know, would have to see a picture to be sure.

I do know that the six-eight were are currently are doing at ATS has a 17x9.5 with 5.6125" of back spacing and it clears....it is however using Cal-Trac's which move the shock placement in board. But, right after that fit check on the six-eight, we bolted them onto my six-seven with stock perches and shock plate's....and it fit. It fit rather perfect, actually............

Another '68 ragtop! Cool! How wide is your 9" would be the question? If it's the same width as stock, then the same stuff will fit the same way, right? If it'sa lil wider or narrower, change the b/s of the wheel to match it up. fyi, I just did new wheels/tires on mine, 17 x 8, 5" bs. w/255/45 tires... lotsa room. many use 275 tires on 9.5" rims and they fit if the b/s is right. When you run the #'s, remember that zero offset b/s is half the rim width... 4" for 8" rim, 4.75" for a 9.5, to center the tires in the wheelwell. any add'l b/s is moving the tire IN, toward the shock and away from the fender lip. And yes, at least w. 17", closest point of approach to the shock is up at the top of the tire... everything lower is inside the wheel
