it seems if I drop the front at all the tire will be rubbing on the inner wheel well anytime I hit a bump. The suspension is at the stock ride height right now. I want to get the wheel to tuck up into the fender like I see on teh 69's. Is this even possible on a 67-68?

looks are deceiving. You will have to drop a 67-8 a little more than a 69 to get the tires to tuck just because of the shape of the wheel arch. On 67-8's the wheel arches are round, while the arches on a 69 are kinda squared off and straight.
I think the best you can do is just lower the car enough to have the wheel arch follow the outside diameter of the tire. Just my opinion.

Getting the tires to "tuck" up into the fenders will take some serious lowering. By looking at the picture I would say 3" - 4". Now if you don't have the proper backspaced wheels that won't work unless you're willing to buy new wheels. If you want the car real low and don't want rubbing you will need 4.75" - 5" backspace wheels on a 8" wheel with a 235 tire. You can always drop back to a 7" wheel and a 225 tire if you're looking to play it very safe. Now keep in mind if you drop the ride height that low you will need a serious spring rate like 600lbs+ otherwise you will be bottoming out. In the rear you will need lowering springs and maybe a lowering block also (you want to try to limit the lowering block to 1" though). In the rear you can run a 8" - 9" - 9.5" rear wheel. You can use a 255 or 275 tire. You will need from 4.75" - 5.5" of backspacing depending on how wide of a wheel and tire combination you run. Do a search. There is lots of reading on this. If you're not going to change the wheel/tire combination I believe you will be limited to what was stated above in having to follow the wheel arch. This can turn into a costly project if you wind up going for a different wheel and tire combination and changing suspension components. Do you want that?

I agree with JV69z. I have 15x7 ralleys with 245/60's all the way around with a Hotchkis TVS kit. The front (2" drop springs) is very close and I get some rubbing on hard bumps, but the springs are firm (600lbs) and they cut down on the travel up and down. The front tires on mine should be 235 or 225 for better clearance. I have read others using a smooth head bolt on the inside top edge of the fender to get less rubbing. From the picture, it looks like your sticking out pass or to the edge of the fender. It doesn't look like you have enough backspacing on those rims to get the tire up inside the fenders.

What are the backspacing of your tires? I was wondering if the C-5 Coys would fit the front of a 69 Camaro, they only make a 18x8 with a 4.5" backspace and I'm not sure it will be enough. I have hotchkiss 2" lowering springs in the front.

my wheels are actually a ford bolt pattern. They are 5.5" backspacing and 18x8 so I just use a 1.5" thick adapter on all 4 corners and they fit perfect. its cool too because I can swap them between my 68 mustang and my camaro also

It can be done...I just don't know how. I bought my car this way, so I don't know what I have that made it work.

I have the stock upper & lower control arms, but don't know what spindles, springs or backspace the wheels are.

If someone can tell me how to take measurements, I'll check for you.

nice car...expecially the wheels I'm a fan of

what is the front tire size? What is the distance from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the front and rear fender lip? Any rubbing?

WOW! nice car,...that is what i had in mind when i started my car, here is where mine sits right now, gutted, and going back together.

Here are some measurements I took for someone else a while ago.

I don't know the wheel backspacing, but here's what I was able to get.

Coddington Wheels

Front - 18 inch wheels:
floor to the body in front of the tire...lowest part of the body where it rolls under....about 9 inches
235/40/18 tires.
8" wheel with about a 2" dish

No rubbing on bumps, but the tire will just barely rub the frame if you turn it too much. Doesn't impact driving the car at all.

Rear - 20 inch wheels:
floor to the body in front of the tire...lowest part of the body where it rolls under....about 7.5 inches
255/35/20
9.5" wheel with about a 3.5" dish.

I'm thinking about changing the rears to 18's at some point. I think I want a more balanced look. I'm going to wait to decide on what I'm going to do with the rear suspension. If I do a 4 link, then I'll probably change it because setting the ride height will be so easy.

Use Chevy bolt pattern and lose the adapters. Gain 1-1/2".

I've mounted Pony-car Bullitt rims on my '67.

I had Mosers redrill everything to the Ford bolt pattern and 1/2" studs and such.

They are 17" x 8" w/ 5.72" b/s. 225-45/17's in front and 255-45/17's in the rear.

I'm using 7/16" spacers too all around but really need like your 1.5" adapters for the rear to better center them..

I also installed MOOG 5536 coil springs after I clock cut the bottoms of them to stock and then cut one complete coil off the bottoms! I figure they are about 525 pounds up from 488! My car is BB now and it's never sat this low and STIFF and to me it has fine ground clearance!

If I had it to do over again, I woulda cut the top coils instead b/c it wouldn't a dropped quite so much OR installed roundy-round adjustable cans and then used cheap, short-stiff, roundy-round coil springs so I could set my height where I wanted it and been done w/ it!!
