Looking at a 68 big block convertible. Owner claims it was originally an SS big block car but is not numbers matching (NOM is not an issue for me). Has tic-toc tach and gauge package on console and a 1965 model 396 engine with 4-speed. Rear end is wrong (Nova 10-bolt) as disclosed by seller. Has correct SS hood and emblems, but don't know about traction bar. Floors and subframe appear solid, descent interior with recovered front seats. Needs rear quarter rust work and driver door rust work addressed and a paint job. Engine just rebuilt as well as tranny with new clutch (runs & drives fine). New suspension busings, 4-core radiator, and carpet. Power steering and brakes. Fold down rear seat.

1. How can I verify this was originally a BB car?
2. How can I verify this was originaly an SS car?
3. What do you feel is a fair price range?

Thanks!
