hello

I have an 89T/A, and unfortunatley the fuel pump burned out.
It is in the tank.

Of course, I filled up the tank about 10 miles before the pump quit.

How do I get the gas out?
I have no access to any special equipment including compressed air.
Thanx

Use some tubing on the tank end of the siphon hose to get to the bottom of the tank.
You have to get the car way up in the air to get the tank out. The filler neck is not a separate piece so you need the height to get the tank down low enough.
I had to drop the panhard bar and I think remove the right rear spring but not the rear axle.
Get some tall jack stands, not the dinky cheap ones. You'll need a floor jack.

.....also both bottom shock bolts, exhaust, heat shields, fuel filler pocket.
The rearend must be dropped as far as possible without putting too much strain on the brake flex hose.
And, you'll have to bend the neck to get the tank out.

Is the pump accessed through the top? If so, why not cut a square out of the trunk floor for an access hole? My Saab and Tracer have access plates so you can get to the pump more easily.
