I had wired up the headlight switch quite a while ago on my 69 Camaro and now it had stopped working. I took it out of the dash assembly so I can run a test light on it and I noticed that only 1 wire is hot coming in (red). I see from the Painless wiring charts that the orange wire should also be hot. For some reason it's not though. Anyone know if both wires need to be hot to run the switch? Can;'t figure out why it has cut out all of a sudden.

May have one of the output colors wrong but I think I'm close. Orange is a fused input power line to the switch. Problem is usually a blown fuse or corroded fuse contacts in the fuse block.

Red is the input 12 volts for the headlights.
Pull the switch on puts power on the blue wire. Blue is the output wire from the switch to the headlights.
Orange is a fused power input 12 volts for the dashlights and taillights.
Pull the switch on and it powers green and brown.
Green goes to dash lights
Brown goes to taillights.
