I gotta feeling that it should weight somewhere around 635 pounds or maybe 640 or so b/c a complete all iron, ready to run 454 weighs right at 685 or so pounds, or so I have read.

If you type in "engine weight list" on yahoo, you will get to a really long compilation of various engine weights and reading it is very interesting, or at least it was to me..

You might want to make a vertical "T" crank snout/damper cradle for it out of some 2x4 and 1x stuff to help the frontend load, plus be real careful rotating it by standing on the floor pieces. Plus maybe a cross front or rear brace to the floor to make it into a four wheeler thing...

I say this b/c I have a 1000 pounder tri-one and it ain't none too sturdy to me!!

I almost popped three ribs rotating my motor over by hand by shear grunt so BE carefull with it!!

Thanks for the info guys.

I guess the wt of the rat would also depend on how he died....i.e. if run over by a garbage truck, he might be pretty light, especially if it's sun dried rat
