To remove the lower there are two attaching brakets. You need to push back on seat frame and pull up to release seat frame from brakets.Some times it may take several tries.Can be a real pain in the butt.
I had one side that I could not get by hand. I had to put 2 2x4s against the rear seat and front seat (use some foam or cloth to protect vinyl) and then put a small sissor jack between them. The crank it by hand. keep looking under rear seat to see when the clip is cleared, then pull seat up while gently disegaging the jack.
