I believe the shifter is the same, but the mounting bracket is stamped steel on a Camaro, and is cast aluminum on a Firebird. Again, I do not know this from personal experience, but was told that by someone who should know. I recently saw an aluminum bracket a guy had. When I asked him what it was for, he said Firebird.
BTW, shifter is the same for console and non-console. The only difference is that the trim ring for the shifter boot is chrome on non-console car, and black on console car.
