While troubleshooting my engine shut down problem, I discovered the resistance of my coil to distr wire is around 8500 ohms. I measured one of the plug wires and it was 18000 ohms. These 7mm AC Delco Premium wires look fairly new. Are these values normal?

I would guess so.
The resistance of high tension leads is specified by the foot, so longer wires have more resistance.

You should be able to find a spec somewhere online.

Typical resistance for a conventional carbon wire is somewhere around 10,000 ohms per foot.

I did find some info online saying that some wires are 10,000 ohms per foot, which puts mine in the ball park. I just couldn't find anything on my specific wires. I'm replacing them with wires that have a resistance of 500 ohms per foot.

Steve - Plug wires have resistance in order to prevent radio interference. 10K ohms per foot is normal and won't affect performance.
