Have a 383 stroker with 70cc edelbroke heads, edelbroke pro-flow injection, comp solid cam, roller rockers, scat crank-rods,just changed it over from a HEI dist. to a Mallory EFI dist. was told to use the mallory ballast resistor.Connected switch wire to resistor then to pos+ on coil but it is only dropping voltage from 12volts to 10.5volts was told it needed to be 9 volts to not ruin the modular this resistor is the one mallory said i needed.resistor is new it will start fine but after warming up you have to hold the throttle to the floor to get it started.About to get rid of this injection system and go back to carb.

new plugs 40 gap,new 8.8 accel wires,new mallory EFI dist.,new ballast resistor,new 50,000 volt coil,timing set at 10,fuel pressure at 45lbs.
FEUL MODS-global=32per cold start=0 transiet=+22 @18"=+10 @12"=+14 @6"=+14 @wot=0 percent.
MISC MODS-- rev limit=6000rpm base timing=off closed loop=off idle control=on spark activity=0 spark mod=-2 FUEL MODS=+44 target idle=875
spark mods @wot=0 global=-7 @18"=0 @9"=0

Thanks for any help

I can't say for sure, but I don't think that voltage is the problem. I am familiar with aftermarket EFI, but not the Edelbrock Pro Flo. Is there any adjustment for cranking fuel and IAC start position? If this was a FAST or Holley unit, that's where I'd be looking first. Sometimes a little change in these areas has a large affect on the hot re-start.
