I couldn't find a good Felpro gasket locally for my Edelbrock Performer manifold. I did find a Mr. Gasket (for Chev. 262 - 400) at AutoZone that I believe to be good, but it has one problem...there is no provision at all for the heat crossover.

I don't mind the block-off, but my concern is that I'm going to get this thing on, and 100 miles down the road the gasket is going to fail. My other set had a metal insert. This gasket is as though there was no heat passage.

Any thoughts?

i think the fel-pro gasket i used when i recently did my manifold was #1256. that has the metal insert, really nice. most chain stores probably won't carry it, although they may be able to get it from the warehouse if you ask. i had to go by a local speed shop to pick a set up, didn't feel like waiting for delivery from summit. i would definitely go with the right gasket the first time no matter what though, you don't wanna tackle the intake gaskets again if something happens. good luck
