Hi, I have a 68 with 383 EFI blueprint in it. Stock ignition, no MSD. I would like to install a kill switch for the car but not sure the best way to go about it. Any suggestions? Thanks

The 12 gauge purple off the ignition switch is used in the safety switch circuit ….or it is in my dim memory.

Well basically what do you guys recommend? I’m not sure what’s best or how to go about it. I’ve had the car since I was 16 so it’s very nostalgic for me. It’s just a weekend driver but I figure if I install something that will decrease the chance of it getting stolen I have to try.
They dont hot wire these cars anymore to steal them. They just roll up in flat bed, drop the bed, hook it up and drive away. All in about two minutes. Dont let her out of your sight.

Jeeze really. I haven’t found any videos or forums on how to install a switch for the ignition. Suggestions?

A simple on/off toggle switch under the dash to interrupt the ignition power works.

ok, any ideas how to conceal it in case they look under there. Was trying to figure out if there is a way I could adapt it somewhere less obvious. I suppose any good thief would know anyways.

Zip tie. So when you are in the seat, you just feel for it under the dash and flip the switch.

Any particular amperage I would need?
20-30 amp rated
I think it’s a 20amp fuse 🤷

I'm thinking a momentary push button switch that has to pressed as the key is turned. That way you won't forget to set it. Under the dash, left of the steering column.

None. I installed one on mine and my brothers back in the 90s. His still is there and works. I took mine out during the restoration.

I never use my High beams, I don't even recall the last time I turned my headlights on.
The high beam switch would be a good kill switch, or the cigarette lighter.
Easy on my car, I can just pull the fuel pump relay that's near the battery in the trunk, but I don't bother, I just heave good insurance.

I'm thinking the neutral safety switch may be the easiest ?
Wire it into your cigarette lighter, push in to make connection (but will not be usable as a lighter anymore)
Micro switch, whether push button or toggle, hidden somewhere easy for driver if they know where it is
Just 2 off the top of my head.

I’m in the process of installing the keyless entry
I didn’t feel the need to get the two way key fob.
How about making it a project 😁
You could look at the one available from screaming chicken.
They have the door lock brackets and actuators

My car when I bought it had an alarm hooked up to the dome light and a pin (like in door jam for dome) and also had hood locks (similar).... I ended up removing alarm and added a fuel pump cut off (electric pump)
