I replaced the old spring perch isolators on my '69. The old ones were crumbling away. The new ones seemed to be quite a bit thicker than the old ones were, and when installed, don't allow the spring perch lower bracket to be tightened enough to touch the spring perch. Had anyone else had problems when replacing these isolators? Am I OK to go with a gap between the lower bracket and the spring perch?

The re-pop isolator pads are notoriously ill fitting. i had to trim a bunch of rubber off with an exacto knife to make them fit. i would not run them as is with a gap. trim to fit or go without. ultimately, i did away with them all together when i installed the cal-trac's
