After recently converting my '69 Camaro to a Muncie M-21 I've noticed gear oil leaking
from the front of the trans where it meets the scattershield. Further, I believe the gear oil is migrating forward and contaminating the clutch disc surface causing
excessive slippage. I'm using Red Line Trans oil which I believe has a thinner viscosity. The trans oil level was set by filling just to the point where fluid
seeps out the fill hole. Also, the trans was recently rebuilt by a reputable shop. Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi, Ernie and WELCOME to one of the BEST sites on the net. Your leak might be coming from the countershaft where it sits in the front of the tranny, this is a common place for them to leak. Some tranny places actually machine the shaft for an O-ring to stop the leak. I'm not a muncie guru, that is DZ AUTO on the Chevelle site @ www.chevelles.com. Go there and ask him to give you his opinion on the problem. Good luck.
