I agree with above, always get the same color as the lens or color you are producing. Putting a white LED bulb in a red lens makes a pink color to the tail light and would do similar to a turn signal with pale yellow. For tail lights, get a RED light. For turn signal get an AMBER light, etc.
The pinkish issues were mainly caused by the first generation of white LED which was blueish white. The more true incandescent whites out now tend not to distort the lens shade of red or orange yellow but it is still a wise choice to use colored LED when you can find them.
