Greetings again gmrich,
there is a 20 amp fuse located just behind the r/h side headlight nest to the radiator. This is the fuel pump/ecm protection fuse, it will blow whenever there is short from the fuel pump relay which is mounted on the firewall on drivers side. check your wires at this relay to see if any of them are bare. Had this happen to me on my '89 Iroc-Z, was pulling hair over this thinking I had burned up my fuel pump until I found this fuse that I mentioned earlier. Replacing this fuse was a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new fuel pump, pulling the fuel tank, replacing the pump, and then re-installing the fuel tank and finding out that wasn't the problem.:0
