First off as always I want to thank David and the people of this board for all the help. Without it I think most of us would be stuck. For anyone who has followed my posts I had purchased a SSBC 2" dropped spindle conversion that gave me nothing but headaches. See what I ended up with.

Then I tried to reuse some of the components and using my stock drum spindles to no avail. Frustrated I ordered the a standard conversion from Master Power that arrived rather quickly and I was amazed at how easy it was to install. They forgot to send me bearings and seals (which I bought locally) and sent me a set of braided brake lines in place of them. I just need to flare one line to the proportioning valve and hook up the pedal and I'll be done with that! Here's a pic of my tie-rod situation now. Much better!!

David, for all your help on this board, of course you have my permission. I am willing to take pictures or give access to anything I have for your website! I had a couple hundred photos on Photopoint.com before they busted, now I'm in the process of uploading all my restoration pic's on yahoo. Hopefully I won't lose them too!

Michael, I too feel your pain and grief with the SSBC 2" drop kit. I had to do a swap to 15"x6"x3.5 backspacing Rallies to counter the tie rod clearance problem. I am
going to remove the SSBC kit and go with the MP Brakes wheel kit as well. Also, the rubber brake lines that came with the SSBC kit are TOO LONG. They look like they belong on a '69 not '67. Are you happy with the MP Brakes setup?

Superior Spindles in So. Calif. makes most of the spindles for the 2" drop packages you see in the magazines. They were never intended for anything but the guys who want to run "skinnies" on the front. They also produce a great 2" drop spindle for "1st Gens" that allow 4.25" back spacing. They (SSBS, M.P., Willwood) just won't package them that way for fear they will price themselves out of a very competetive market, I guess. You would think they would want to get it right, but ??? You can buy direct from Superior Spindles (a Div. of Kressin Engineering & Mfg.) in Los Angeles.
