I am installing a B&M Megashifter in my '69. I ordered the wrong shifter (1982-92) and decided to make it work anyway. It is really going well except for this problem. The purple wiring for the neutral safety switch is 12 gauge. The B&M neutral safety switch takes 18 gauge wire. I am worried about the current capacity of the switch since the wire wouldn't be 12 gauge if it wasn't carrying a lot of current. Is the switch from B&M too small for this application ([email protected])? Anyone have the "right" shifter that can tell me what size the switch is?

All of B&M's shifter's come with that small micro switch for the reverse lights and nutral safety switch.
I used a 30 amp starter relay for the purple wire and used the micro switch to activate the relay. If you try to run the purple wire through the micro switch it will eventually melt down from the current heat passed through it. I'll look today and see if I can get the diagram for wiring the relay for you.
