Running auto lite AR 133. 50 miles on them. Some liquid too looks like gas/oil on the threads.

Anything I can do plug wise or inexpensive to get these to burn right? Hotter plugs? More Advance?

I have tuned the carb for max vacuum. You can see the plugs in the attached link.

Thanks in advance.

I would say you have to determine the source of the Oil Fouling. Is this consistent with all the plugs? Is you PCV system working? Could be the Valve Seals. Perhaps the engine is tired and needs a rebuild. I would do a compression and leak down test to determine the condition of the engine.

I agree with the above...
AR 13* plugs run 1 being cold and 5 being hot (I run AR132 w/o issues). I don't think a hotter plug will correct the problem.

Thanks. Compression tested 72/78 on the worst cylinder.

By the time a farm an engine rebuild, I think I am halfway to a new engine. I have nice MSD electronic ign, new MSD 8361 dizzy, new Performer intake and new 1407 edelbrock carb. Should I just buy the ZZ motor you guys are all talking about, put this stuff on it and call it a day? Would this stuff work on it?

I think the ZZ is a Vortec headed motor so your intake won't work. Everything else should work though. Someone could build you a pretty stout long block that you could transfer everything over to.

Just for an idea on prices, here's a couple of links from Carolina Machine although there are probably lots of places out there who will do it. The long block prices are in the middle column on the "performance street" link. Under the OEM one, they have some 327's and a 375hp 350 for $2200. You have to select GM first and hit search.

What do you guys think of this? I could put most of my parts on it?

This is just personal preference, but if it were me I'd pay for the Dart head and roller cam upgrade. And I'd try to find something closer to home.

Edit: Also saw the Pro Comp heads that motor comes with in base form are angle plug. Sometimes there's an issue with header/manifold fitment if you're set up for straight plugs already. Dart's heads come in either angle or straight. Pro Comps might as well but I just wouldn't want their heads on my motor after many things I've read.

I agree... something closer to home

May even want to look at a ZZ-4 short block from your local GM store/dealer if you have the know-how and tools :D
