I bought some kyb shocks and they came with the stud and shock.
Ive had ones where there was no nut on the rear end of the stud, and the shaft went through the shock and spring plate and then bolted up from the forward side.
This one from kyb has a nut on each end and it by coincidence or choice is a press fit into the spring plate hole like a lug in a wheel presses in, then a nut on the threaded part pointing forward of the car and a washer and nut on the rear part holding on the shock.
Is this normal use? I think its cool that it press fit into the plate but I still used the nut on the other side.
Or, is this normal and ive just never bought one like this before?

I hope you understand this, im on my 4th brew doing a clean up and shocks on 69 camaro

Re: multi rear shock stud question

If they are the KYB Gas-a-justs, don't even bother installing them. If they are the GR-2's you are ok. Do a search... it has been been hashed over many times.

I think I have always used the old stud that was there.
