Begginer car builder.. why is the muncie soo much more than the saginaw.. is it that much better.. whats the difference?? thanks Brad

It's lighter (aluminum case rather than cast iron), more durable, and parts are easier to come by. A lot of people have replaced their Saginaw tranny's with Muncie's.

some synthetic fluid and the saginaws are alright upto about 300/325 hp...

Saginaws have better ratios but will take very little abuse. Parts are available but anything besides bearings or syncros is not worth fixing.
