I finally decided on the Vintage Wheel Works V45 16x8 blems with 4.5" backspacing and some 245/50ZR16 and 255/50ZR16 Falken ZIEX 512 tires. The tires look great, have a nice tread pattern and a decent treadware rating. I hope to get them mounted and balanced soon, but with this possible snowstorm headed our way I might be waiting a few days. I came in under $1000 total for 4 new rims and tires so I'm pretty happy.

where did you buy your wheels and tires to have everything for under 1000$ ?
that's not expensive! good thing for you. And yes post some pics!

Vintage Wheel Works has some of their V45 16x8 blems selling for $650 a set and I bought the Falken Ziex 512 tires(245/50R16 and 255/50R16) from Vulcantires.com for $326. It's snowing out now and I'm driving my SS454 pickup which isn't very good in the snow so I don't know if I'll be able to pick the tires/wheels up from being mounted/balanced. If I do, I'll get some pictures soon.

How does the wheel look like (Cosmetically Blemished)? what is different with the other 'normal' wheel?

it is almost twice cheaper!

The center spoke area on some of the wheels looks a little blotchy and one had some light scratches near the valve opening. My car won't be a perfect show queen so it didn't bother me one bit. You could probably get the center spokes repainted if you got some that bothered you too much. I think they were a great deal.

Oh well, too much snow today so I didn't get to pick the wheels/tires up. I was lucky to make it home in my SS454 pickup. It's not the best vehicle for driving in the snow.

Here's a sneak preview of my 68 with the Vintage V45 16x8 and Falken Ziex tires. The front is 245/50 and the rear is 255/50. The car needs some suspension help as you'll be able to tell. I have to wait until it's running again to take it outside for some pictures.

The pictures are lousy but I'll get some better pictures when I can get it outside. Right now I have the water pump off because it was leaking and I decided it would be safer to replace the optispark distributor now as well. It has a 94 Impala SS LT1/4L60E with 4 wheel disc brakes, ps and AC. The AC isn't hooked up and neither are the gauges, but it's a solid west coast body with a fresh paint job. And we got 14" of snow over this past weekend so I won't be driving this car any time soon. I'm real happy with the wheels and tires though. I need to put the center caps on.

I doubt it. I have to find out what springs are in the front of the car and if they're installed properly. It sits too high but some of the AC parts still aren't installed.

The rims look great. You have excellent taste ;)

If you have not already done so you may want to use a wheel cleaner. If you have polished the outer edge, or if they are powdercoated, then beware of the acid cleaners. VWW has a recommended cleaner for the standard wheel that works very well. For regular cleaning I just use a citrus orange product, sprayed on and brushed, then hosed off.

It's amazing how much grunge was removed from mine when they were new, and I thought they were clean.

Well I just got my v-45's today, just out of curiosity do the 245 50's rub in the front when cranked to either side? I think I am going to run g-force 245 50 all the way around, if they fit in front. SS

My 69 is still at the shop being restored so no chance for that any time soon.
