Son-in-law has an 85 Camaro with 89 Corvette 350 TPI, auto trans. In thermostat chamber, there is a BOSCH part installed. P/N 0280130229, at least 0229 is correct. Stampings on hex flats read 35*C, 8 sec, 40W, 12V.

I see its an 8 sec timed heater, but what function would this be useful in the ECM world?

I have a cold Corona for the correct answer....Thanks

Cold Start Switch. Normally closed for 8 seconds, then its own heater opens up the switch, then coolant temp takes over from there. Only on Corvette TPI, not on Camaro/Firebird TPI systems, from 88-on.
