I'm trying to put together a nice street/stip combo without changing my current bottom end.I'm currently running a sb400 .030 over with forged pistons -14.0cc,.083dish,4 reliefs.9.0 to 1 with 76cc head, msd pro billet,6al,muncie m21 and have 3.08's but going to at least 3.55. I'm looking for as much HP as possible on 93 octane. Any help is appreciated in selecting heads, cam, intake, carb, head gaskets, etc. any maybe a hp ballpark figure. Thanks

You can make around 600hp with apump gas 400sb, but it will be pretty radical for the street. heres a combo that made around 550-575hp (never dynoed) it went 10.0s @ 132 in a friends 2900lbs Luv truck.

400SB
11:1 pump gas
HP950
1" spacer
HV1000 intake (I believe that a Super Victor w/ plenum work would be better)
Brodix track 1 heads - ported 2.08/1.60s (314/224cfm)
Comp solid roller 255/260
stock 400 block, froged bottom end.
This combo wasnt optimized, so there was some more power & 9s in it.

This combo also went 5.71 in the 1/8, which is 8.90s in the 1/4 on a 225 shot. You could build something similar, and play around with cam choices, something mild in the 240s or go with something in the 260s which should make around 600hp on pump gas.

Hope that helps
