Ok, in regards to my other post about wiring the tach. , I think this is part of my problem. My tach output on my H.E.I. reads batt. voltage. This is suppose to be the (-)negative side of the coil and I shouldn't be reading batt. voltage correct? What could cause this? Dist. not grounding properly? Bad module in dist.? any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

The tach output is indeed the neg side of the ciol. This line is "switched" by the module to generate the spark. You won't ever get a meaningful voltage measurement there, tho it is meaningful and interesting to look at it on a 'scope.

IF/when you're certain the wiring is right, and the tach still doesn't work right (you should get at least some reaction from the tach) look in the electrical basics sticky for my "inexpensive tach filter."
