Is there one? Using the wiring diagram I found where the Neutral Safety Switch wires should lead into the underdash harness, but there are no wires to the underdash connector at those spots (I was trying bypass the switch temporarily to test my starter).
How does the Neutral Safety Switch work? If not in neutral would there be any power to the starter, i.e., would the starter crank but the engine not fire, or does the switch cut off ignition to the starter?

i dont think there is a safety switch in 68!

just a reverse light switch.....

Nope, 69's had a switch on the clutch, 67-68 had nothing at all.

68 Automatics had a NSS. It was located in the console and the switch was attached to the shifter. The circuit was provided by two large purple wires. I'm not sure if the manual setups short circuited the switch, or somehow bypassed it in the wiring. I say this in case the car was converted from auto to manual.

If the NSS or clutch switch (which may not apply in ether case) does not work, no current will flow the solenoid and the engine will not crank - the starter will not clunk.
