Just signed up here today. Ive owned my 67 RS since 1980 but its been in storage since 1991. It wasnt started in 5 years so its been fun getting it back running. Its been interesting finding all the stuff I did back then and thinking "Why did I do that?" It was my first car so I did a lot of kinda dumb things like remove the ac compressor. ( to get at the spark plugs easier) LOL. All the little nuts and bolts and stuff in the console and ash tray bring back memories. Its a 327 powerglide on the column car with the original motor but now sports an m21 muncie 4 speed that is era correct. I threw the powerglide in a dumpster in 1986. See what I mean about doing stupid stuff. Marina blue factory rs and after all these years the headlight doors still work. Ive got it running again but need to go through the whole brake system. At least parts are cheap. The main problem is finding any in stock. They all look at me like im nuts when I tell them what Im looking for. Its always the same answer. "I dont stock it but I can get it for you tomorrow." Well enough of my rambling. See ya all in the forums. :D

George, welcome aboard! Feel free to show off your rs with some photos here.
Assuming you are running drums and you have to go throught the brakes, it is the best time to swap over to front discs. It made a dramatic improvement on my car and raised my level of confidence driving it. I don't know why I waited so long.

Good luck with the resurrection. :beers:

Another great story. Welcome.

Parts are not that difficult to come by for our cars so we are fortunate.

Post some pics...:hurray:

Welcome George. I've been working mine out of deep unplanned storage myself so been there done that. I replaced lines, valves and master cylinder when all was said and done on my brake project last summer. I just couldn't trust any of the steel rusted out parts.

When you have a moment why not post a few pics of your girl. :)

Its funny about the pics. The car has been in storage while the whole digital revolution took place. Ive got to go searching through some actual pics to find some of the car to scan. Currently the car is still half covered in my carport/garage so its not very photogenic at the moment. And it seems my Imageshack account no longer gives direct access to single pics. Thats now part of the upgraded membership (not free). Ill see what I can figure out.
