The engine sounds like it need more work to be done because it's has a clicking sound and I'm pretty sure that's not how an engine sounds. Anyway I'm contemplating if I go for a new engine or just fix the problem.
Any recommendations where I can get affordable parts for the car?
welcome to the madness ticking sounds like cam and lifters or could lead to something worse like rebuild depending on certin things like oil pressure
Some car dealers, new or used, are as honest as Illinois politicians, lawyers, or judges. Get a 2 ft piece of hose or long screw driver, or buy a stethoscope. Stick one end in your ear and with the engine idling run the other end over each valve cover, timing chain cover, fuel pump, and oil pan. When you locate where the sound is loudest, report back with that information. Could be lifter adjustment, bad camshaft, weak fuel pump spring, stretched timing chain, rod bearing, main bearing, harmonic balancer / dampener etc. Clicking is better than knocking.
Check the oil, some dealers would put 90 wt oil in the engine to mask a rod or main bearing knock.

Welcome!

"Affordable parts" is pretty generic. For a lot of the mechnical stuff, if you are not looking to stay 100% original correct, try Rockauto, thier prices are good - just watch the shipping costs. Amazon has some deals too. For Camaro specific parts there are a ton of online sellers; Heartbeat City, Camaro Central, SS396, Classic Industries, Year One, NPD, the list goes on and on... these are just the big ones, there are a lot of smaller houses too.

Good luck. And we like pictures so don't hold back.
Welcome to the forum. The easiest way to start is to follow R66's suggestions on trying to isolate the clicking sound. There's so many variables with these cars you never know where to start. It would be helpful when you come back to give everyone some specifics about the car and especially the engine. "Clicking" could be lifters, rocker arms, and a host of other gremlins. And unless it was your plan to get a new motor, it may be cheaper and quicker to find out what the problem is and think about fixing it before spending thousands on a new engine.
