I have a set of 69 seats that new seat bottom springs were installed and recovered. They sure make alot of noise from the springs creaking and groaning. Is this normal?
If somebody sat on you over 38 years , you would croak and groan too I believe there should be a cloth type covering over the spring area that contact another spring etc. If the springs are weak they have more give and will make noises streching.
I think most of the noise is coming from where the springs clip into the seat frame. You can see them move and rub metal to metal there. Not sure of a solution. They are new springs and I believe all the fabric is in its proper place.
Last time I heard a noise from my seats, it wasn't the seats. I think it is also a cloth issue, perhaps long rotted or just missing. Usually the springs are covered in a burlap.
