I was wondering if NOS shock absorbers lose any functionality having been sitting on a shelf for years? I want to install a set on my bone-stock 68 coupe so that it looks, rides and feels like it did originally. I do not want the heavy duty type. I was thinking about a set of Delco TRS series or Delco Pleasurizers. Any opinions on using these? Any other recommendations? Thanks.

Not sure if they loose any functionality. I'm still running the original front shocks on my Chevelle. No leaks, seems to recover from bounces quickly. I took them off in 1990 and re-installed them in 1999 (cleaned them up and re-painted them). No ill effects noted. They probably have 110,000 miles on them, so I'd gotta think NOS sitting on shelf should be ok. The seals may be a little dry, but after a little use, they might recover.

I'm sure more modern shocks will perform better, but, hey, it's a 37 year old car and my expectations around handling for stock configuration are pretty low.
