Oil Light just came on.

Sure sounds like a sender issue or the wire is gounding out. Pretty cheap to swap it and see.

I always have a mechanical gauge here at the shop to install temporarily and see what it says. Hopefully it agrees with the aftermarket gauge you have now.

Is there any chance that the factory pressure switch was removed when the after market gauge sender was installed? If so, the old wire for the idiot light may have fallen down on a ground somewhere.

I'm with Dave. The light glows when the sender grounds the wire, bet it's just hanging back there, and grounded out on something.
