Anyone have an old TRW book to look up a piston number for me. The number on the piston is 2244 and it is for a small block chevy. I am looking for the compression specs.

thanks

Mark

Hey Mark, haven't seen you here in a long, long time! I was wondering what happened to you.
I have a couple of old TRW catalogs at home...I'll check them tonight after work.

Mark,
Are you certain that it is a TRW piston, or maybe someone elses made from a TRW forging ??? The reason I ask is that the only TRW number I can find that has a 2244 in it is a L2244F....it fits a Ford 427. Where is the 2244 on the piston ?

Good Question Bill, Maybe a Sealed Power Number?? The piston is marked right on top. I know for sure the number is 2244, but I will check for the exact letters when I get back home tonight.

Thanks

I found the same thing as BillK...big block ford pistons is all I can find under that number. Hastings (the ring company) has a pretty handy list of part #'s from a number of piston manufacturers and TRW is all I could find. I assume they are a forged piston? What is the bore size of the pistons?

FYI, whats up with your website? I was wanting to show some of the guys here at work that toyotas CAN run

Mark, I had a similar question a while back. The piston I had in question had the number 2244p stamped on the face. BillK informed me that it is a forged piston, the same as TRW L2256F. Hope this helps.

Ledfoot, you win the prize, I pulled one of the pistons, cleaned it real good and rechecked the number. Its 2244P .030 and is stamped right on the top.

Travis, I hope they are forged. If they are like the L2256F and forged I would be very happy. I was afraid they would turn up cast.

My webpage was erased when I switched to DSL. I am working on a new one, but have not posted it yet. I put a 2" spacer under the carb and hit it with a 100 shot. She ran [email protected] Traction was VERY limited. I am sending it out soon to tub it and add a ladderbar coil over setup under it.

BillK, do you believe this be a forged piston, simular to the L2256?

Thanks again guys...
