opera window

Hello all,

I have a friend who has an old photo of his previous 1974 Camaro. He believes it to be a LT.

I want to do research on it but the data/information is more difficult to find than I thought.

The vehicle had an oval glass window, where the quarter metal is on the second gens.

I believe they call it an "opera window". The YouTube video below calls it a "Mini Vette Package" and is also referred to a "Special Edition". I have also read that others consider it to be an aftermarket product with JCWhitney.

If anyone knows where I can get more data on this type of option, whether factory RPO or aftermarket, please let me know. Thanks.

Looks like a dealer installed aftermarket kit. A way for a dealer to make extra money.

saw afew of those cars new with those windows factory or dealer installed have no clue. Never heard of the "mini vette" tag.

That's sacrilege. Port holes belong on '57 T-birds. Nothing else.

did you ever find info on the 1974 camaro mini vette package cause I got one also and there s is no info on theses am 2nd owener I got it in 1986 and still have it

I had an "opera" window on my 73. I also have the original paperwork from the dealer. I don't have the paperwork handy right now, but i recall it being a Landau window package. In my research, it looks like these windows were purely a dealer installed option. I removed the window from my car. The paint was in amazing condition so instead of doing a repaint i just put a traditional full black vinyl top on mine.
