Looking for some help on this one.
I have a 68 camaro with non-posi 10 bolt 3.42 gears. I was wondering if anyone knows a way to convert this rearend into a posi rearend. Or, if there is another rearend that can fit the camaro with little to no fabrication work.
I like the gear ratio, but with 350 horse, there one tire just spins, and I am tired of replacing that one tire.
Thanks guys

adgreff,

Alot depends on your budget. If you like the 3:42's I would get either a 10 bolt posi or a 12 bolt with 3:43's. You won't have to fabricate as far as cult or weld. To change an open rear end to a posi will require alot of labor time plus parts. It may cost you a couple hundred more to get a 10 bolt posi but you will save on labor time as the switch isn't too difficult. I love 12 bolts but they cost 1800+tax and that's as cheap as you will find a fully reconditioned unit in great shape.

I know the feeling of the one wheel peel. My old 1969 had a 3:08 open 10 bolt behind a BBC & THM400 before I went to the 12 bolt and 3:73's in that car.
