Get the pertronix epoxy filled coil, not oil filled.

The Petronix 1181 is a well designed unit that replaces the points and condenser. It not only maintains a stock look but also works well with a stock coil and resistor wire. The black wire connects to the negative (-) side of the coil just like the wire that went to the points, and the red wire is connected to a 12v source to power the module. The “ING” connector on the fuse block is a good place to connect the red wire.

I used the original old stock coil when I installed the 1181 Ignitor in my Camaro as I did not want to eliminate the factory resistor wire. It works great all the way up to 6500 RPM.
