I'm pretty sure this is some type of relay/switch I bought for my Derale 50 amp draw! electric fans that I used to have.

Does anyone know what this thing is or how I'm going to need to use it to wire up my new electric fan?

Thank you for any help,

Donnie

In the process of doing this myself. Do a googly search there are a ton of good write-ups on how to wire a relay. I think I'm going to use a variable speed controller on mine as it keeps fan noise down and reduces initial spike. However, if you search ye shall find some real nice diagrams.

Looks like a horn relay. I would think if you were going to use it as a power relay for your fans, the big silver terminal would be for the hot lead. The two terminals inside the white part, one would go to the fan motor and the other lead to the temp sensor. You would have to check each terminal to see which one passes the power back out of the unit and which one would trip the relay.
