I have a set of TRW 7040PA big block pistons. Does anybody know the correct part # for the OE style pin retainers to full float these pistons?

It appears that the retaining ring groove is .100 wide. Is there an aftermarket retainer that would be adequate for this application?

Thanks,
Bill

Folks,

Found the answer this morning.

The correct retainer for the early style TRW piston is an internal snap ring with a width of .050. Speed Pro part # LR-186. The piston requires 2 rings per side for a total groove width of .100. A Spirolox retainer will replace the original locks, however, the .042 Spirolox seems to be the most popular, making the .050's difficult to find.

The newer style coated piston requires a wire ring style lock.
