I want to start pining my own weather tight connectors. Is there a "master kit" that would be a good place to start to make my own connections instead of doing all butt connectors??

Def get the larger guage terminals for the parts of the wiring that need double wires like the courtesy light grounds and tailight harness

Weather Pac pins are round and come in three sizes:
1. #20 - # 18 gauge
2. #16 - #14 gauge
3. #12 gauge
Weather Pac pins are rated for 20 amps regardless of the size.

There is a new type called Metri Pac. They are flat and also come in three sizes.
1. 150 series 1.5 mm terminals, 14 amps
2. 280 series 2.8 mm terminals, 30 amps
3. 630 series 6.3 mm terminals, 46 amps

The same crimper can be used for both types. Use the correct pin for the gauge of wire. Otherwise, you might not get a good crimp.

Do not buy Weather Proof connectors. They look very similar to Weather Pac. The pins do not insert into the plastic shell and the retaining clip will not snap in place.

I have a Klein Tools crimper, would that work or do I need a different one specific for the weather Pac? This is the Klein I have
Frank... chances are that even with using Delphi connectors you might need some different teeth inserts or other size crimpers. I have a similar HD ratcheting crimper with interchangeable teeth and a couple of smaller crimpers which are sometimes handier to use. I like the Delphi connectors, I used these for the dual eFans and those are the Delphi brand crimpers (blue handles) I used. They roll and crush the pins perfectly. The Pro's Kit Barrel Crimps also came in handy when doing my SpeedHut wiring with Deutsch connectors.

Waytek Wire is also a great, low cost, supplier but there may be minimum buys.

Each system (Weather, Metri, etc.) have advantages and disadvantages. One of the more modern Delphi (now Aptiv) systems is the GT series. GT150 for 15A and under, GT280 for 25A and under. Sealed and unsealed plug bodies can be used but with different terminals. The best reference for all of the series is the Delphi Global connections catalog available here: Global Connection Systems Catalog | TTI, Inc.

The blue handle crimping tool shown in the earlier post is about the best overall tool for a very low price. Dedicated tooling is spendy. A single set of dies is $350 + $100 for the handle. To do 10-22ga two sets of dies are needed.

When I did my conversion, some of the connectors I ended up using the Metri Pack ones for the fan, the amperage/wire ga. generally dictates the connector type. These tools helped me, blue one for Delphi and the other one for getting the factory terminals out of their sockets.
