I just had the worst day ever! It's my birthday and I was supposed to be in out St Patricks day parade. Untill something happend to my brakes on the way there!!!

I Installed a hydroboost unit with braided lines and a NEW Tuff stuff pump. Everything worked fine until I backed out of my driveway, put it in drive and the brakes were locked up. Now every time I turn the wheel the petal goes down and the brakes lock up. I have to wait like 10 seconds before I can move again. The pump makes a whining sound and its hard to turn the wheel just standing still. Pressing on the brakes standing still the petal jumps up and down.

Could the pump have gone bad? Or is there something wrong with the hydroboost?

I'm going to get a 6 an fitting and bypass the brakes first and see if the pump stops whining.
(UPDATE) I bypassed the Hydroboost unit and the whining stopped. Looks like it may be the brake unit????

Please help!

Sounds to me like air in the system. What procedure did you use to bleed it? It took me a LOT of bleeding to get all of the air out.

Going by memory. I got the front wheels off the ground. Engine off. Turned wheel lock to lock about a hundred times, rechecking fluid level often. Topped off fluid, started engine and repeated the lock to lock thing, again, checking level and topping off. If the fluid foamed, I'd let it sit for awhile.

Even after all of that, I still got some pulses in the pedal. This all went away after a few hunderd miles, just as Hydratech said it would.

Also - how is the reurn line from the hydroboost plumbed? Separate port on the pump reservoir or "T"d into the PS return line?
T'd . The return line from the hydroboost is straight through. The power steering box is on the t part.

That's exactly opposite of how it should be. The straight part of the Tee should be in the PS return line. The HB return line should Tee into that at a 90. Hydratech instructions were very specific on this point.

I am running a stand alone resevoir however, i still have the instrucitons and they were very detailed about the T install. Correct T fitting orientation is: Bottom of T is low pressure return line from brake assist unit. Right side of T (when facing T) is TO the PS reservoir. Left side of T (when vacing T) is low pressure return line from steering box.

Found something else. I removed the outlet AN fitting on the Hydroboost and the little O-ring was broken. That same fitting was leaking 2 weeks ago. I tightened it up real good then. It wasn't leaking yesterday though???
