Guys,
With the fantastic help of this forum I completed the front drum to disk conversion with power booster and had great stopping power until I rebuilt my engine with a larger cam. Vacuum went down from the 20's to 14-16 max Hg now and my stopping power is poor. I tried an electric pump and didnt like it and have heard bad things about hydraboost in conventional trucks and SUV's. Is there any other solution to boosting vacuum like a belt drivin auxilliary pump, or should I look at larger disks up front?

It's a Delco Moraine 9" and has a new check valve. My vacuume measures at the booster about 7-8 at idle, 10 at 1000 rpm, 12 @ 1100 RPM, 13 @ 1500, 14 @ 2000, maxing out at 16 and 2500 RPM.

And Frank, I want to thank you for the sledgehammer video. It was hilarious, and yet I used it to fix the door to fender alignment on my 67.

You might try adding a reservior with a check valve as the engine in decell mode, can generate up to 20 inches of vacuum as the pressure of vacuum and volume are needed.

More vacuum will help plus the volume. Run a vacuum gauge inside the interior while driving and you can use an air tank for prototyping. Check valve would be on the supply side. Most stock Z/28's and stock L88's generated 13 inches of vacuum to operate the brake booster.

I like your idea but need more info to implement it. I have a second vacuum booster that I could maybe retrofit, or I could find a small tank, but would need some clarity on the plumbing and how vacuum from one tank would feed or suck from the other? Any thoughts on this?

You need 14 to 16 at idle. What is happening to you is the first time you hit the brakes after cruising at speed you will have brakes, retouch that pedal and no power brakes, correct?

Is the booster a single or dual 9"
A single 9" doesn't give much assist.
Try the resevior or step up to a dual diaphragm booster.

The resivior mounts in line with the vacuum line to the booster with a check valve on the engine side.
So go from the engine through a check valve to the reservior to the booster.
Check summit they should have many to choose from.

Seems to me the vac reservoir would just give you more of "not quite enough" vacuum, and perhaps an extra application or two at a stoplight. I will admit that I don't know how a dual diaphragm booster stacks up against the big Delco unit. Rather than trying to band-aid the vac system, I'd consider going to a manual system, which would require a smaller bore MC, or hydroboost. Not sure what bad things you've heard about hydroboost on trucks & SUV's, but I have it on my Camaro and it's freakin' awesome.
