I'm asking David P. for his expertise again but anyone else can join in also.

David,
I asked you what I need for front susp. for my 67 Camaro just last week. Now before I do all that it seems if I want to have power steering, now would be the time to do it since I can't use manual pitman arm.

I'm looking at the same 71 Nova I got my disc brakes from and now confirmed it has the 1-1/8 center link so i'm getting that for $30. Now I'd like to know if I can use the pitman arm off of it and maybe idler arm if they're in good shape?

I'll be getting a 89 Z/28 (Think it's IROC) steering box also from bone yard which should be close ratio. Will the Nova p/s pitman arm work on the Z steering box? I also took the info from your site and got some good news. The spindles from the Nova have the short arm 5-1/4 center hole to center of spindle so that means even with the newer p/s box I should be able to make U turns, right?

You can save some time, when looking for the correct steering coupling, by giving a call to Lee Manufacturing. Also, by following David's easy instructions, on his web page, you can be sure of what ratio steering box you got. Not every Z/28 Camaro or T/A has the fast 12.4/1 box. I have the fast ratio box, together with the PS pump you showed in your other post and it's working like a charm.
Here is a printable degree wheel for the box id.

The nova parts should work and the late box will fit all, except the steering coupler size is smaller. You will need the Lee MFG coupler to adapt it. or:

Coupler for later PS with smaller 3/4" dia shaft GM#7826542
Used on 77-79 camaro, 77-86 Pickups. Go for the later yr pickup to be sure.
I have not bought this coupler but it is "supposed" to work.

The Nova Pitman, ctr link, and pitman etc, should all work if in good condition, same for the spindles and steering arms.

The late box will have metric hose ports, so use adapters to std flare so you can use an older pump and hoses on it.
The older pump must have the pressure boosted by removing one shim and drilling the outlet restrictor for more pressure and flow.

A late pump will have enough flow and pressure but the stock hoses will be wrong.
You could use port adapters to adapt pump and box ports to US flare.

Orench, Thanks for the wheel. Even if the box isn't a real close ratio it has to be 100 times better than my stock box with it's 7 turns one way :D

ismail, I already grabbed the arms and I hope you're right

David, Once again huge help to me. If the pitman and idler arms are ok that will be a good deal I can get'em for $10 each. I hope you can explain the drilling and shimming part to me better when I find a pump because at this point I don't have a clue and I didn't see anything on your site about it, that doesn't mean it's not there though. I think your site may be infinate
Thanks
