I pulled the engine/trans from my 68 last weekend and now I'm trying to get the trans off the engine. It's a 327 and powerglide. I removed 6 bolts which appear to hold the trans to the block and I can get them to start separating, yet it still won't come off. Its like there's something holding it on near the oil pan but I can see anything.

I'm new to this (first ever engine pull), so any help will be appreciated.

You want to remove the bolts that hold the converter to the flywheel so the converter will come off with the tranny. This will involve removing the converter cover and rotating the flywheel so you can access all of the bolts. Before you do this replace a couple of the six bolts to keep the tranny from falling off until you want it off.

Thanks, got it. Now to start cleaning off 39 years worth of crud.

I have no idea what the wheels are from. I don't like em. But I'm gonna keep them on til the car is about done and I get my hands on some rally wheels.
