I just started cleaning up my 8.5. Found out this morning that it has 2.73's and is an open diff. I think I'm going to go with Motive Gear 4.10's and an eaton posi setup. I have no idea how to setup backlash and such so I'm going to have a shop do the work. Would it be better to have all the innards removed before I take it to the shop? I ask because I'm on a bit of a budget (college). Also, what do you guys think it will cost to do all this? Sorry for the long winded post and thanks for any replies.

It will only take about 30 minutes for them to disassemble the rear end. It might be better to leave it all together and let them disassemble it because sometimes you find problems when disassembling them that might not be obvious if it is allready disassembled.
