Man...I'm lookin' for someone to save me here. Just bought an 88' IROC 305 tune port. It had been sitting for about 4 years untouched. The guy that I bought it from said that directly before he parked it, he put in a new fuel pump...took it for a ride...then it died and he could'nt get it started again. I put a new fuel filter on it and it started right up. It'll run for about five minutes, then will just shut down. When it dies the fan will come on and I can hear a tick tick sound every few seconds on the left side of the motor....almost sounds electrical. Then after about 10 or 15 min. later I can start it again no problem only to start the problem all over again. If anyone can make sense out of my mumbo jumbo and knows what the problem is.... I would greatly be appreciate it.

Welcome to the Club!

VATS? = key has a resistor chip? If it does, attempt to start, no start, remove key, wait min 3 minutes, restart using same key - usually works 99% of the time.

If above scenerio, the clicking is the relay. Battery up to full charge?
